my thoughts

A great show. A sad turn of events.

April 9th, 2006

I know I’m posting this quite late in game, but oh well. So be it.

arrested_devToward the end of the second season of Arrested Development, my wife and I got hooked. It has to be one of the funniest shows that I’ve seen on TV in quite some time. After watching the end of the second season, we were able to watch it in its entirety during a marathon rebroadcast over the course of a week. Absolutely hilarious! That Christmas Kathy picked up the first two seasons on DVD which we began watching immediately.

By now, of course, the third season is done and sadly the series may be done as well. Fox in their stupidity is canceling the show. There is hope that another network will pick it up (Showtime has shown some interest). But, alas, I haven’t heard anything solid.

My advice is for you to do yourself a favor and rent the first two seasons (the third hasn’t been released yet). You won’t be disappointed. Unless of course you consider a show like Freddie to be the pinnacle of television comedies.

Baby Bjorn

April 2nd, 2006

BabyBjorn2Yep. We did it. We registered. Baby registry that is. Its weird. When you register as an engaged couple you include stuff that you always wanted, or that she always wanted. Or something that neither of you wanted, but couldn’t agree on what the other chose so you had to compromise.

When you register for baby items, you have to sign up for things that neither of you have ever thought about in your life. Things that you think you will need or that the baby will need. You also tell yourself that the baby will like the things you pick out. Like the baby is really going to care if there are airplanes or teddy bears on its comforter.

In the middle of registering for rocking chairs, breast pumps and high chairs, we registered for the Baby Bjorn Original Baby Carrier in City Black. Yep, despite all of the things we have purchased in the last eight years of marriage this has got to be the most yuppie oriented purchase of our lives.

The thing is, I really can’t wait to use it. Starbucks coffee in one hand, iPod in the other. Baby hanging out in the Bjorn. Damn yuppies.
