Well, the design for the website is moving a bit slower than I would have hoped. I have the layout and main elements in place. The problem is that I keep going back and fine tuning bits here and there which keeps me from getting it finished.

The next major step is to style the post, comments and contact form sections. I’ve already started the form styling, just a few more things before I’m completely satisfied. Then I have to really sit down and dig into WordPress and PHP. I’ve never created a WordPress template before, so I really have to get familiar with the platform very quickly.

This has been a great process so far and I’ve learned quite a bit since my last project. In this one I’ve started to use absolute positioning to get a certain element in the header exactly where I need it to be. After a bit of trial and error it works great (at least in Firefox).

Hopefully I’ll have this ready soon. Until then, enjoy this slapdash, haphazard excuse for a temporary design.
