CSS Off Returns
April 4th, 2008
In a little over 12 hours the latest CSS Off contest will be underway! For those of you unfamiliar with the CSS Off, it is a contest that puts a .psd in your hands and asks that you turn it into a semantic, standards-based site in 24 hours. I participated in the last one and had a great time. I highly recommend that everyone reading this take part.
This time around the comp has been designed by the amazing Brad Colbow who did a fantastic job. I can’t wait to see how people approach the design. Additionally, I have been asked to be a part of the contest as a judge for which I am truly honored. I will be judging the entries along side some incredibly talented people including former Clevelander and fellow CWSA member Dan Ott who left our fair city for the bright lights of Bloomington, Indiana last year.
As I said before, download the files and throw your hat into the ring. Not only is it a lot of fun, but its a great learning experience. I found all of the comments by the judges incredibly informative and I feel they have helped me become better at my profession by forcing me to rethink some of my practices and methods.

Cool judging panel, except for JD and Tony - who are just strange guys. he.
I look forward to seeing the results of this competition.

@Dan Ott - Thanks man. I agree, glad to see it back. :)
@Nate Klaiber - I’m looking forward to seeing the results too. Won’t be long now.

Agreed! Not only informative from the judge’s remarks, but seeing how everyone else approaches the same project. Hats off to the competitors and judges for the time they put in.
