Importing from Blogger
I guess being an early adopter is not all that it is cracked up to be.
As you may know from reading the previous posts, I decided to move to the WordPress platform after a year and half with Blogger. Blogger was decent enough and had some great templates designed by some of the best web designers in the industry. The problem was that it wasn't flexible enough.
So now I'm on WordPress. I really like the platform so far and I'm sure it will serve me well for the time being (although my ultimate goal is to design my own CMS from scratch). The problem I am facing right now is importing my 18 months of posts from Blogger to this site.
This wouldn't have been an issue if I hadn't upgraded to the new version of Blogger prior to switching over. There is a script in the WordPress installation that will allow you to import you posts from another platform, however this script is for the old version. When I try to login to Blogger from the WordPress importer I get an error that says "Login failed, please reenter your username and password".
Until someone smarter than I can get the script updated, I guess I'm cursed to have two places where my thoughts and opinions reside. Hopefully WP 2.1 will have an updated script.
